It seats five well rather than seven with compromises, which makes it the honest choice when the party is small and the aesthetic matters. The diesel is quiet enough to hold a conversation at motorway pace and capable enough to enjoy the Lovcen climb in a way the saloons politely decline.
The Q8 and Q7 both wear Audi rings, but they are different bets: the Q7 fits seven and their luggage, the Q8 fits two who care what is waiting at the kerb.
